Rogue one: A Star Wars story

Return to the star wars universe in what is undoubtedly the best star wars prequel ever, even though it wasn't hard competition. It is even possible to say that this is one of the best star wars films in the saga. Return back to the story with new characters, played excellently by Felicty Jones and Diego Luna, as well as the great droid K-2so, played by Alan Tudrik, and the addition of Mads Mikllesen. The film has a great story with interesting action and a lot of tie ins to the saga and the extended universe, such as the clone wars and rebels tv series. Director Gareth Edwards has done well to create a meaningful part to the story, that portrays a lot of emotion and feel good moments. It also does well to fit into the overall story of the original trilogy, which is nice, as well as fixing the problem as to what happened to the characters in the film, after its events, as well as other ones in the universe. This is a highly recommended film, likely promoting a release of more Star Wars spin offs in the future.
Contains fantasy violence and scenes that could frighten young children

Top Gun: Maverick

 Released: May 27th 2022 Directed By: Joseph Kosinski Cast: Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Charles Parnell Legacy movies seem to be all the rage these days (Past massive cinematic universes that is). Some of pulled it off really well, with films like Blade Runner 2049 almost being better than the original, some not so well like independence day resurgence, some being a bit of fun to pass off as alright with Jurassic World, and some being The Force Awakens. How these movies do well is another story, now though the latest movie to try its hand at a legacy reboot is Top Gun. No matter what you think of the original it is fair to say that the cultural impact and quotability is much greater than any plot point in the originals story, with not much to go on past some manliness and jet fighters. Deadpool 2

Released 16th May 2018 BBFC rating 15 Directed by David Leitch Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz After the overwhelming success of the first Deadpool film, the second instalment was inevitable, with the same formula that made the first one great. The film revolves around Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool ( Reynolds ) attempting to save Firefist ( Dennison ) from time travelling assassin Cable ( Brolin ). While using similar ideas and call-backs to the first film, this one feels completely different, and in some senses more like Deadpool than before, filled with more references and nit pics to Dc than before, and arguably better action. The film also remembers to not take itself too seriously like the other one did, with more events in the film which try and mess with the timeline as much as possible without caring about the outcome.
