Popstar: Never stop never stopping

From comedy group ' The Lonely island ' comes this hilarious original film that was probably the best comedy from 2016, its that good. The lonely island comes back to what they are great at in the film, having a film based on the radical lifestyle of a 'Popstar' ( see what they did there), and writing the songs that he would eventually sing to the world. Of course these are not your run of the mill songs, with one talking about sexy times in the context of the death of Bin Laden, another that talks about how the Mona Lisa is a piece of carp, and one that spends the whole song telling us that Andy Samberg's character is straight. As well as that there are a load other moments of crude humour that is actually quite funny, in a world full of rubbish jokes in movies, as well as some great story, directing the film as if it where almost a documentary, allowing for some great cameos in the film, such as Snoop Dogg and Martin Sheen. This is a very underrated movie, and its a shame that it was technically a box office bomb, as it should have made much more money than it actually did.

Top Gun: Maverick

Some of pulled it off really well, with films like Blade Runner 2049 almost being better than the original, some not so well like independence day resurgence, some being a bit of fun to pass off as alright with Jurassic World, and some being The Force Awakens. How these movies do well is another story, now though the latest movie to try its hand at a legacy reboot is Top Gun. No matter what you think of the original it is fair to say that the cultural impact and quotability is much greater than any plot point in the originals story, with not much to go on past some manliness and jet fighters. Deadpool 2

Released 16th May 2018 BBFC rating 15 Directed by David Leitch Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz After the overwhelming success of the first Deadpool film, the second instalment was inevitable, with the same formula that made the first one great. The film revolves around Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool ( Reynolds ) attempting to save Firefist ( Dennison ) from time travelling assassin Cable ( Brolin ). While using similar ideas and call-backs to the first film, this one feels completely different, and in some senses more like Deadpool than before, filled with more references and nit pics to Dc than before, and arguably better action. The film also remembers to not take itself too seriously like the other one did, with more events in the film which try and mess with the timeline as much as possible without caring about the outcome.
