After the film X-men origins Wolverine absolutely butchered the character of Deadpool, as well as any hopes for further X-men spin off movies, Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller saw to do the character some justice in the form of this film. It's essentially another origins movie underneath but yet helps to flip the superhero genre on its head, making many jokes seen unfit for a film aimed at younger viewers, yet fits the character precisely, as well as the well loved 4th wall breaks randomly coming up in the film that helps to throw the audience off balance. The only problem with this many jokes is that they start to become very repetitive, with a lot of crude humour that seems very filling. The only time this dissent seem to happen is when the character makes well placed continuity jokes, that helps to remind us that this is a film that isn't meant to be picked apart, making this review pointless in a way. Anyway, it is a good film none the less, the other issues coming out in the story of the film, but again this film is not for overall nit-picking.
Contain sexual references, bad language and scene of blood and violence my rating: 8.1/10

Top Gun: Maverick

Some of pulled it off really well, with films like Blade Runner 2049 almost being better than the original, some not so well like independence day resurgence, some being a bit of fun to pass off as alright with Jurassic World, and some being The Force Awakens. How these movies do well is another story, now though the latest movie to try its hand at a legacy reboot is Top Gun. No matter what you think of the original it is fair to say that the cultural impact and quotability is much greater than any plot point in the originals story, with not much to go on past some manliness and jet fighters. Released 16th May 2018 BBFC rating 15 Directed by David Leitch Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz After the overwhelming success of the first Deadpool film, the second instalment was inevitable, with the same formula that made the first one great. The film revolves around Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool ( Reynolds ) attempting to save Firefist ( Dennison ) from time travelling assassin Cable ( Brolin ). While using similar ideas and call-backs to the first film, this one feels completely different, and in some senses more like Deadpool than before, filled with more references and nit pics to Dc than before, and arguably better action.
