Wonder Woman

BBFC rating 12
Directed by Patty Jenkins
After the mixed response of Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman, the DCEU needed to come back with a film that would draw its audiences back to the home base and return to the former glory once presented by the studio. Wonder Woman has succeeded in its purpose, in both saving the DCEU as well as launching the female lead comic book movies into a brighter reputation. The film has a good directory, moving slowly from her origins on Themascara, into the battle torn Belgium and the front lines of World War 1. The most noticeable part of the movie is the differences audiences can see between the character in this movie and the one seen in BVS, with a more juvenile attitude, with less understanding of how the world works. There is still the element of darkness portrayed in the story, being serious in a script that would be hard to take seriously from the start, and the supporting cast is also great, with well represented characters and a great introduction to Ares into the film adaptations. The emotions and shocking twists will draw people well into the film, and will be one of the few films that I would return to see again this year.
Contains scenes that will disturb younger viewers, moderate bad language and violence.
