After the overwhelming success of the first Deadpool film, the second instalment was inevitable, with the same formula that made the first one great. The film revolves around Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool ( Reynolds ) attempting to save Firefist ( Dennison ) from time travelling assassin Cable ( Brolin ). While using similar ideas and call-backs to the first film, this one feels completely different, and in some senses more like Deadpool than before, filled with more references and nit pics to Dc than before, and arguably better action. The film also remembers to not take itself too seriously like the other one did, with more events in the film which try and mess with the timeline as much as possible without caring about the outcome. Overall the film does well to be entertaining, maybe more so than the last one, keeping good action flowing through the film, and while at some points feeling a little bit repetitive or forced, overall kept me entertained throughout the entire story. The story is another great part of the film, feeling a lot more established than the first one and overall more engaging. However, while a majority of the film uses its characters well, and developing some of the old one, some of them feel a bit wasted and like more could have been done with their story line. As well as this the last one had a good time making jokes about poor budget, whereas this one has had a massive increase, so couldn't really make the same jokes, while still trying to at some places. However, this was a great film and all these nit pics are poking fun at a film which isn't made to be taken absolutely seriously, and does very well to be a predecessor to the excellent first one, tagged as well with a brilliant end credits scene that is possibly the best one ever in a film.
Contains strong bloody violence and strong language as well as sexual references
