Whats New

 In my last review ( Tenet )i hinted at some changes that are being made on the site to make it more readable, intersting and welcoming as possible, and here I will list the ways I am going to do that.


I'm going to be using a new system to rate movies, a mix between a streamlined version of my old system with a tiered system. How this will work is that I am ridding of the decimal point in ratings, now each movie will get a 1-10 rating only. This will be paired with a tier it will be a part of, each number represeting how I feel on the film:

10 - Perfect, 9 - Incredible, 8- Brilliant, 7 - Good, 6 - Okay, 5 - Not great, 4 - Bad, 3 - Very Bad , 2 - Dire, 1- This is not a film its a crime

This just makes it easier to see how good a film I actually think it is and makes each review simpler to understand


New Authors - Last month we had Theo over from the Random Polotics blog and the Poorly Informed podcast, guest writing on his list of films. I hope this to be more of a common occurance on this site, allowing more opinions and takes on films new and old.


New Styles - There will be a step up in looking at movie events, new and upcoming projects and more in depth reviews on this site, I have been trialling these styles and have seemed to work well so will continue to write more of these as they come up.

The film does well to keep well towards the themes of the previous two, while being a completely new film in the franchise, being a more gritty entry to the series. It does well to build on previous characters seen in the franchise, as well as tying into the films that produced the ideas for this reboot. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Released: 22nd September 2017 BBFC rating: 15 Directed by: Matthew Vaughn Cast: Taron Edgerton, Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Mark Strong, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Pedro Pascal, Halle Berry The surprise success of Kingsman: The Secret Service has lead life into the second instalment. After the vents of the first film, Eggsy (Edgerton) has joined the high ranks of the Kingsman, but after a Drug Lord (Moore) destroys the Kingsman, they seek refuge with the American cousins, the Statesman, and attempt to bring down the Golden Circle. From the start of the film, it gets straight into the story, with a spectacular action sequence that does well to build up later events. that is one of the key improvements from the last film, the action is more confident than the last one, with the same notable style, but with more daring and content, learning from what they did before. Deadpool 2

Released 16th May 2018 BBFC rating 15 Directed by David Leitch Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz After the overwhelming success of the first Deadpool film, the second instalment was inevitable, with the same formula that made the first one great. The film revolves around Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool ( Reynolds ) attempting to save Firefist ( Dennison ) from time travelling assassin Cable ( Brolin ). While using similar ideas and call-backs to the first film, this one feels completely different, and in some senses more like Deadpool than before, filled with more references and nit pics to Dc than before, and arguably better action. The film also remembers to not take itself too seriously like the other one did, with more events in the film which try and mess with the timeline as much as possible without caring about the outcome.
