It is hard to imagine that the highly controversial 2006 film would get a sequel, let alone one which managed to step up the amount of trickery and absurdity of the first one. Borat 2 follows Sacha Baron-Cohen disgraced reporter as he tries to rebuild the image of Kazhakstan after ruining it in his first movie. Throughout his quest to deliver his daughter ( Bakalova) to Mike Pence he has to travel America amist the CoronaVirus. If it sounds ridiculous thats becuas it is, taking hte standard format of the first movie yet making subtle twists to it, playing to the idea that Borat is now a well known figure in the US and A while bringing in similar techniques from his previous project on Who is America ( also a very good watch). The film doesn't fail to entertain you, however it does have the very aging quality to it. With all the references to Trump and the Virus it's hard to see it retain the watch-ability of the first one, something which has become a classic in it's genre. As well as that the jokes just aren't quite what they were in the first one, with nothing really coming close tot he national anthem prank. What it does do well on though is emotion. it was nice to see another character in this film that the audience can actually care about in the form of Borat's daughter and while yes her story is about as ridiculous as that of the main characters it was a welcomed inclusion to the film. The big story around this film is its repsonse to the CoronaVirus, and it does a very good job in filming around it. From the isolation to the stockpiling it does a very good job to tell the story of Borat through it. While it does become a little dragged on at some points and maybe to recent for people it is very cleverly done. Overall I would say it is a good film, not quite the first one with none of the jokes really matching up to the ludicrous nature of the original however still an entertaining watch nonetheless. What I will confirm in this film however, and please stop reading now if you want no spoilers, is it does deliver some shocking stuff by the end of the film, similar in the style of Who is America and certainly more daring than the first it is something that will leave your mouth agog, but I'll leave that for you to find out......    My rating: 7/10 ( Good )
