The MCU has been leading to this film for over 10 years now, with the promise of a big showdown with all the characters that have been developed across over 15 films, and to be honest it has paid off massively. The story of the film was everything that had been hoped for, with a plot that closely resembles a manhunt. The film does well to keep track the multiple story threads that it has created, making sure that the audience is kept up on what is happening at each point. the characters are well developed throughout the film, with each of them having a personal motive throughout. Of course with over 40 characters in the film, some are overshadowed and sort of just there, but in a film so big this is not really much of an issue with the smaller roles. I think that as a marvel fan you really get what you where promised with the enjoyment of seeing the different characters coming together, especially that of the guardians of the galaxy and the main avengers. As well as that, as someone who is outside the marvel timeline it stands up as a really good film, with not a lot needed to be known to go into the film and understand what is going on, and only really needing to catch up on Black Panther, Thor ragnarok and civil war to fully understand some of the references. As a film it works really well, there are some good jokes throughout the film that don't distract you from the story, and it is the Marvel film that has made me feel emotional the most, with more of a relatable cast in the film, However while being brilliant there are some flaws which where inevitable. At some points they leave some areas too long, with you sort of going 'wait they where there' and losing track a some points. Also the film is really dense, with a lot of references going over your head, and resulting in you needing to see it again to sink everything in. However it was more that just a crowd please, it was well made ad the problems where always going to be present, but it was the most enjoyable and thrilling MCU film yet and a definite contender for the best one yet.

Top Gun: Maverick

 Released: May 27th 2022 Directed By: Joseph Kosinski Cast: Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Charles Parnell Legacy movies seem to be all the rage these days (Past massive cinematic universes that is). Some of pulled it off really well, with films like Blade Runner 2049 almost being better than the original, some not so well like independence day resurgence, some being a bit of fun to pass off as alright with Jurassic World, and some being The Force Awakens. How these movies do well is another story, now though the latest movie to try its hand at a legacy reboot is Top Gun. No matter what you think of the original it is fair to say that the cultural impact and quotability is much greater than any plot point in the originals story, with not much to go on past some manliness and jet fighters. Deadpool 2

Released 16th May 2018 BBFC rating 15 Directed by David Leitch Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz After the overwhelming success of the first Deadpool film, the second instalment was inevitable, with the same formula that made the first one great. The film revolves around Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool ( Reynolds ) attempting to save Firefist ( Dennison ) from time travelling assassin Cable ( Brolin ). While using similar ideas and call-backs to the first film, this one feels completely different, and in some senses more like Deadpool than before, filled with more references and nit pics to Dc than before, and arguably better action. The film also remembers to not take itself too seriously like the other one did, with more events in the film which try and mess with the timeline as much as possible without caring about the outcome.
