The Last Jedi starts off pretty much where the force awakens left of, following the finding of the rebel base, the first order hunt down the remnants of the resistance, under the lead of Kylo Ren ( Adam Driver). Meanwhile Rey ( Daisy Ridley) looks for help in the form of Luke Skywalker ( Mark Hamill). Honestly this was a brilliant film in many different ways, it had a great narrative which differed from the usual idea you would find in a Star Wars film, and was thoroughly entertaining the whole way through. The narrative does well to keep the audience satisfied with information revealing while still leaving many unanswered questions for episode 9, and made sure that everything was clear to the audience throughout the film. While there where a few moments in the film that had me scratching my head ( which I will leave out in case spoilers arise) it still kept being consistent and didn't falter in any of its different character arcs. It was interesting to see how well it developed each of its returning characters, who where played brilliantly by Driver and Boyega, as well as reintroducing fan favourites such as Skywalker, and how it introduced the new arrivals of Benicio Del Toro's character and Rose played by Kelly Marie Tran. Even more so it expanded well on very much unseen characters such as Captain Phasma and Snoke which was really interesting as it was all stuff we had failed to get from the last film. At the end of it the problems where minor and for a film that is leading the way to the Grand Finale it still didn't leave me unsurprised or underwhelmed and managed to be a stand out film in the franchise and leaves me looking forward even more to the next instalment.
Final Verdict: a Brilliant original film to the franchise with a great story and great characters.
Contains Mild fantasy violence and moderate bad language

Very interesting and I’d agree! Definitely a good film. Why is it that some people don’t like it - what would you say to them?
ReplyDeleteThank you Theo, in reply I would say hat you are entitled to your opinion, however simply because this film ventured to be dissimilar to the others ones not make it bad, it simply makes it something new, then again if the narrative is not to their taste then what can be done.
