After two mediocre Thor solo films, the third and presumably final shot at one before the end of the Avengers needed to be a good one. I think it is safe to say that Waititi has done a spectacular job, and has created a entry to the MCU that really does stand out from the rest of the franchise. This can be seen through his evident style running through the film, being a more humorous take on the character, and in retrospect the funniest film in the Marvel franchise so far, with a range of humor styles withing satire and slapstick. With the inclusion of the Hulk as well, it helps to develop the characters more over the course of the story, showing the true nature of Thor through the use of another character. As well as this if characters are being considered, then the addition of Korg, played by Waititi himself is truly brilliant, He acts as the comic relief through the whole film, who cuts the tension almost when the action is getting very serious and determining. As well as this Cate Blanchett's Hela acts as a brilliant villain, and Tom Hiddleston is a great Anti-hero through the whole film, helping to expand on the relationship  between Thor and Loki well. The whole picture feels like two films however, with one on Asgard and one with Thor and the team, and while this does very well to get as much punch as possible from the film, for me it was really distracting moving from your traditional Thor film to almost another Avengers movie. Again I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but to have a more fleshed out transition would have been great. However this is again one of my smaller nit-picks and a brilliantly fun movie with hilarious jokes and great action, and is one of the best films in my opinion in the MCU.
Contains Fantasy violence and moderate bad language.
My rating 9.1/10
