Guardian's of the galaxy: Volume 2

BBFC rating 12
Released May 5th 2017 ( U.K.)
Directed by James Gunn
After the huge success of the first Guardian's of the galaxy movie , it was fitting that Marvel would green light the second space flick. Taking place after the events of the first one, the Guardian's are found as a hand for hire, but after causing a dispute with The Sovereign, they find themselves crashed on a distant planet where they meet Ego, the father of Star Lord. The film manages to maintain a level of interest for the whole run time, having great characters, new and returning, as well as stunning spectacles and some light hearted comedy. Together the total blend of the film works really well, along with the return of a mainly 70's soundtrack and some Easter eggs for those keen eyed views. The storyline is also very compelling, bringing a touch of reliability to a sci fi film, my only issue is that there seems to be multiple stories going on at once for a while in the story, which splits characters up a bit, which can effect how people see the overall plot. However this is minor and in the long run helps to make the team feel stronger at the end, as well as opening up new ideas on each of the characters. I think that Kurt Russell's Ego is very well done and the returning cast also does really well. Overall this is one of the top Marvel movies so far, and signals a good direction for the new Sci film films in Marvels Arsenal.
Contains mild Bad language and violence
My rating 8.5/10
Some of you may have heard of a real tragedy lately, that is frankly really depressing. Zach Snyder has taken a break from Justice League due to his daughter's suicide earlier this year, and I would just like to say that my thoughts are with Zach and his family as he goes through this difficult period. I'm sure that Autumn will be missed.
